Newly formed UAE club Al Qabila FC have appointed former Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor as their new head coach – and their announcement video has gone viral on social media.
Al Qabila recently begun a project to ‘build a football club in 365 days’ and will be competing in the UAE Pro League next season.
Watch the announcement video below, where they describe Taylor as a ‘Newcastle United legend’ as the 38-year-old steps out of a black people carrier in the desert.

What have I just witnessed. From the dramatic entrance to his ‘ready to fight’ stance, it’s quite something…
Taylor already has experience managing in Dubai and recently led Gulf United to back-to-back promotions, guiding them into the second tier.
Al Qabila were founded by Daniyal Sheikh and Soheil Varahram and are thought to be charging £100 for players to trial for the club.
Good luck, Steven!
