New top-six odds released – Big night for Newcastle and Man Utd after Chelsea slip

The bookies make Newcastle United slim favourites to end the season in sixth ahead of our trip to Selhurst Park tonight.

We are currently priced at 1/1 to secure a top-six finish, with Man Utd at 5/4 and Chelsea down to 11/2 after they were battered 5-0 at Arsenal last night.

Newcastle are currently level on points with Man Utd – both on 50pts – but we have a far superior goal difference. Chelsea remain three points adrift and have some tough fixtures to come, with Aston Villa and Spurs to come in the next 10 days.

Man Utd will be hoping to leapfrog us tonight as they face bottom-of-the-table Sheffield United at Old Trafford. It’s a game they’re expected to win, meaning three points at Crystal Palace would be all the more precious for Eddie Howe’s Mags ahead of upcoming games against Sheffield United and Burnley.

Whatever happens tonight, it’s now considered a three-horse race for sixth after West Ham’s 5-2 defeat at Palace on Sunday. Here’s the latest top-six odds ahead of tonight’s games:

  1. Newcastle – 1/1 (2.00)
  2. Man Utd – 5/4 (2.25)
  3. Chelsea – 11/2 (6.50)
  4. Brighton – 66/1 (67.00)
  5. West Ham – 80/1 (81.00)
