Eddie Howe ‘exclusive’ – Watch brilliant interview with Gary Neville here

A fortnight on from his in-depth chat with Anthony Gordon, Gary Neville has now released an interview with Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe for The Overlap.

Speaking to the Sky Sports pundit from the club’s training base, Howe shares a fascinating insight into his management style, his obsession with tactics and trying to improve before discussing his time on Tyneside, from our initial survival to our push towards the top four.

He then discusses our up-and-down 2023/24, the ‘richest club in the world’ tag, his honest views on FFP, the truth behind Allan Saint-Maximin’s sale, his daily routine and his thoughts on the England job. Watch it in full below:

Howe also touches on his rise through the ranks in coaching, making notes while watching Champions League games and his struggle to unwind and take himself away from football as an obsessive manager. His answer? Coaching his three young lads in the garden!

The 46-year-old discusses his connection with fans, enjoying life in the North East – a “great place to live” – and the pain of relegation at Bournemouth.

It’s a brilliant interview and reminds us what a special manager we have in Eddie Howe; a workaholic who never stops in his bid to improve Newcastle United.

  1. I’d be really interested in GNevs thoughts on Howes interview versus Ten Hags.

It was really fascinating to hear him talk about his time with his mum & the memories he has of her growing up. I really hope Eddie gets to spend some quality time with his boys this summer – he’s earned it & it’s time and opportunity he won’t get back.

Top man & so pleased he’s at our club.
