Does Best and Ireland's night on the town really matter?
I've read a few opinions and different articles that have talked about Leon Best and Stephen Ireland and their night on the town.
Even other sites are starting to jump on the bandwagon now and suggest that then emergence of a photo of the pair, plus Caleb Folan, taken at a posh Newcastle nightclub could be causing problems at Newcastle United. This is of course utter bollocks and only someone that is so far removed from what really happens in the UK would suggest such a thing.
Quite honestly, who really cares whether or not two players, who were not in the matchday squad I'll add, went to a nightclub? I know I don't and I feel that some are reacting in a bit of an over-the-top fashion. Fair play to the vast majority of people on the blog as they also see that there isn't really a problem with anything that has gone on, but it won't stop people creating a headline, or even a story, out of what is essentially nothing.
It's a situation that is ripe for the drama queen's and headline writers to have a field day with, but there was actually nothing wrong with them going out for a night out. I mean who is to say that they were even drinking?
'Two lads have a night out on night off' should be the headline, although I feel it's only a matter of time before it changes and no doubt the self righteous among us will preach how these athletes should be looking after their body and have a responsibility etc etc. Really? So they should all act like monks should they?
Storm in a teacup springs to mind!
