Orlando confirmed on U.S tour.

Newcastle have announced a third date for their tour of America which will see them head to the Sunshine State inbetween trips to Kansas and Ohio.

It's quite the road trip in terms of distance, and quite the fixture list when you consider it will be three games in six days for the players who will more than likely be gearing up for another season in the Premier League. I just hope it isn't too much too soon and we don't see any injuries become of it.

The opponents will be Orlando City who are making their debut in the third tier of the American Soccer Pyramid and are coached by ex-Everton midfielder Adrian Heath. The venue will be the 65,000 capacity Citrus Bowl which was used as a venue for the 1994 World Cup and 1996 Olympics.

That leaves our confirmed fixtures to date looking a bit like this:

20-07-2011 - Kansas City.
23-07-2011 - Orlando City.
26-07-2011 - Columbus Crew.

I'd imagine that will be about it in terms of our US activity over the summer. Hopefully at least one of the matches will be within a reasonable distance and allow some of our American fans to go and watch the Toon.

They may have to do without seeing Joey Barton however who is going to have to plead his case for a visa and try to convince the U.S authorities that he isn't a danger to the public due to his previous troubles.

On the plus side, maybe Ryan Taylor can get a job as one of those kickers in the NFL? I think he'd probably be rubbish at that aswell, but at least I wouldn't have to see him trotting out in a black and white shirt ever again. Let's face it, we know Raylor is the one who is going to get one of those hats with the clappy hands on the front don't we......

Howay the lads!
