Game on! Liverpool v Newcastle.
It's an early start for fans of Newcastle today as a rather curious midday kick-off at Anfield awaits.
It's a match that takes on extra significance as it gives fans a chance to have their say on the Andy Carroll affair and allows them a first chance to get their feelings off their chest. Some people may feel that he was forced out, but I very much doubt that many people in the away end at Anfield today will feel the same.
Of course, the reaction to Andy Carroll is just a sub-plot and what really matters is getting a result at a ground where we have traditionally struggled. Liverpool are resurgent at the moment whilst Newcastle are just trying to limp towards the end of the season with an injury-hit and already thin squad.
Still, we held Manchester United to a draw so there is no reason why we can't do the same today. As I said in the match preview, I really can't see us getting more than a draw as I just can't see where our goals are going to come from.
The match is live on ESPN here in the UK and is also available on many overseas TV channels from various parts of the globe. That will mean that there is likely to be a good amount of streams available if you need to watch the match via that means. In fact a quick glance at MyP2P shows that there are plenty to choose from.
I'm not generally a negative person, but I have a bad feeling about today. I'd be delighted if we could pick up a point and I'd be doing naked cartwheels if we won. I feel that my modesty and gymnastic ability will both stay hidden for today though although I do live in hope that we can do something today.
Howay the lads!
