Newcastle 2-1 Fulham - Video highlights
Just a quick replay of the 2-1 victory over Fulham yesterday. These are only brief highlights but they are all I can find.
All in all it's not a bad start to life in the Premier League this season. Two goals from Leon Best helped carry on what is an unbeaten start for us this season, which is something I don't think many of us envisaged in fairness.
The problem is that no matter how good the results have left me feeling I'm still actually waiting for the inevitable kick in the nuts. There were some real signs of that team gelling yesterday and it would be a crying shame if they weren't added to in the final couple of days of the transfer market.
That is going to be the thing that dominates the news for the next few days as this latest transfer window winds down. And with no club football to look forward it's going to mean that there is an awful lot of time to sit back and analyse things.
To me it's pretty clear though - a left-back and a striker are required as a minimum.
Well done to the lads for yesterday. It was another hard fought win that showed balls and determination, but if we miss a trick in terms of signing the two players we need then they will have every right to feel let down, the manager will have every right to feel let down, and the fans will have every right to feel let down.
Rant over...
