10 Premier League strikers Benitez could bring to NUFC this summer
Newcastle's summer rebuild is yet to kick into gear, but it is no secret that Rafa Benitez will be in the hunt for a new striker to guarantee goals ahead of our Premier League return.
The Chronicle recently stated that Newcastle are in the market for TWO strikers with Premier League experience - following our failed attempt to sign Tammy Abraham, here's 10 strikers who we believe Rafa could look to sign this summer:
1. Daniel Sturridge
Reports suggest that Jurgen Klopp is ready to let the 27-year-old striker leave Anfield this summer, and Benitez is believed to be a fan. His injury problems are a concern, so this one would be an expensive risk, but a risk well worth taking IF he stayed fit.

2. Michy Batshuayi (Loan)
Benitez is scouring the Premier League's top six for potential loan deals this summer and yesterday, The Chronicle's Mark Douglas confirmed our long standing interest in Batshuayi, also revealing Rafa has a good relationship with Chelsea's Technical Director Michael Emenalo. Batshuayi looks likely to go out on loan this summer, and whilst he is an ambitious target, he certainly represents the sort of exciting addition we're crying out for this summer.

3. Andre Gray
A player Newcastle have undoubtedly got their eye on this summer. Gray has pace to burn, is a willing runner and an eye for goal and could be available for a knock-down fee this summer, having entered the final year of his contract at Burnley. There'll be a few interested in him this summer but he's certainly one to watch this summer.

4. Andy Carroll
West Ham are in the market for a new striker this summer and that could cast Andy Carroll's future into doubt. Again a player whose injury record is a concern, but a return to Tyneside would be something I imagine Carroll and the club would be in favour of. Whether Rafa Benitez is a fan is another matter, however.

5. Wilfried Bony
Newcastle showed interest in the Ivory Coast striker during his time at Vitesse in Holland, however Swansea beat us to his signature in the summer of 2013. Bony's career has stalled following a big money move to Manchester City and he has been made available by Pepe Guardiola this summer. He would likely need to take a pay-cut, but if Benitez believed he could help him rediscover his Swansea form then this is a deal well worth looking at.

6. Kelechi Iheanacho (Loan)
The 20-year-old Nigerian striker has made a habit of scoring goals whenever he's given a chance by Manchester City, and looks set to be made available on loan this summer. He could be a player Benitez looks to bring to St. James' this summer, but there would be no shortage of interest.

7. Charlie Austin
Austin was heavily linked with a move to Newcastle in the summer of 2015 and in January 2016, however ended up signing for Southampton. Despite his injury problems, the 27-year-old striker has still managed 38 goals in 80 Premier League appearances over the past 3 seasons, and could be considering his future with Manolo Gabbiadini now above him in the pecking order at Southampton.

8. Callum Wilson
Sky Sports confirmed Newcastle's interest in the Bournemouth striker in January this year, only to see a cruciate knee ligament injury rule him out for the season. He is now nearing a return to fitness, so Newcastle could rekindle their interest, especially with his Bournemouth future in doubt following the signing of Jermaine Defoe and emergence of last season's top scorer Joshua King.

9. Danny Ings
The 24-year-old striker has returned from injury in time for Liverpool's pre-season, however doubts remain as to whether he can fight his way back into Jurgen Klopp's plans. Injuries, yet agan, would be a concern with this one, but Rafa Benitez may consider a loan deal with his former club for Ings - a player who scored 11 goals in his debut Premier League season with Burnley.

10. Loic Remy
It's likely that bridges have been burned to allow Loic Remy to move back to Newcastle, however Chelsea are said to be willing to offload the Frenchman on the cheap this summer to enable him to get his career back on track. Remy is now 30 and has had his fair share of injury problems recently, but did score 14 Premier League goals during his spell on Tyneside in 2013/14.
