BREAKING: Everton have £6m bid accepted for Newcastle United defender
The Liverpool Echo have revealed that Everton have had a bid in excess of £6m accepted by Newcastle for highly-rated defender Lewis Gibson.
It was reported last week that The Blues were in 'advanced talks' to sign the left-back, and it has now been confirmed that the big spending Everton have struck a deal with Newcastle for one of our brightest young talents.

The Echo state Everton are now hoping to convince the 17-year-old to ignore late interest from Tottenham and join their under-23s set up.
Gibson is an England U-17 international and had enjoyed an impressive start to life on Tyneside, having shone in the U-18’s and, quite impressively, in Peter Beardsley’s U-23 side as a 16-year old.
Given he’s considered to be one of the top youngsters in the country, Gibson's exit would be deemed a blow, however the £6m received would be added to Benitez's summer transfer kitty, with Rafa set to gain 'every penny' from player sales.
