Benitez facing nervous wait as in-form NUFC man is forced off during international duty
Rafa Benitez was left frustrated by Newcastle's inability to sign defensive reinforcements on deadline day - seeing the club fail to sign a left-back - and our current stand in left-back Chancel Mbemba is now his latest fitness concern, having hobbled off during DR Congo's 2-2 draw with Tunisia last night.
The 23-year old has generally struggled to nail down a first team place during Rafa's reign, but has filled in superbly at left-back since Paul Dummett's injury on the open day of the season.

Mbemba scored the opening goal in last night's World Cup qualifier for DR Congo, but was forced off on the hour mark, leaving Benitez facing a nervous wait learn the severity of his injury.
Whilst we will have Lejeune and Yedlin returning from the sidelines for Sunday's game, an injury to Mbemba is an untimely blow for Benitez given the lack of defensive cover he was handed on deadline day.
