A round up of all of today’s NUFC related news and gossip:
- Newcastle have held talks over handing a new deal to in-form defender and club captain Jamaal Lascelles - his current contract runs out in 2020 but we are believed to be keen on securing his services (The Chronicle)
- Jonjo Shelvey, Rolando Aarons, Freddie Woodman and Jamie Sterry all look set to features in Newcastle U-23 side to play Norwich at St. James' Park tonight in the Premier League 2 - NUFC TV are showing a FREE live stream.
- It has been revealed that, after the opening four games of the Premier League season, the average age of NUFC's team (24.6) has been younger than anyone else's in the league.
- NUFC loanee Sean Longstaff has scored 4 goals in 4 games for Blackpool, with his latest strike being nominated for the EFL's goal of the month for August - watch it here.
- Frank De Boer - the man formerly linked with the NUFC job - has been sacked by Crystal Palace after just 4 Premier League games in charge. Ex-England manager Roy Hodgson is set to take over in the next 24 hours (Sky Sports)
