So, at 12pm today it was confirmed that we were in advanced talks to sign Liverpool's Daniel Sturridge on loan until the end of the season. Fast forward just two hours and the man who was expected to travel to Tyneside this lunchtime is now set fo a move to West Brom instead.
Not only do we now look set to miss out on a striker who would've been capable of firing us to safety (if he stayed fit), but we've missed out on him to a relegation rival and Alan Pardew of all people..
We know we've went massively downhill under Ashely's ownership, but moments like this confirm just what a sorry state he's put us in. Being from Birmingham, Sturridge's decision may be loosely based on geographical reasons, but still..
