North-East journalist sends message to NUFC fans after news of Mike Ashley's new asking price
Sky Sports revealed last night that Mike Ashley has now upped his asking price to "£380-£400m" - a move that has left the Telegraph's North-East correspondent Luke Edwards feeling as though this could be the end of any potential takeover at NUFC this summer.
Sky also stated yesterday that Amanda Staveley would have to rekindle her interest and begin talks with Ashley 'in the next few weeks' if she and PCP are to stand any chance of a securing a takeover at the club (with a deal needing to be done in good time for essential summer spending).
This, combined with Ashley allegedly upping his asking price by another £100m, has clearly left Luke feeling as though Mike Ashley could be sticking around for another season yet - something us NUFC fans did not want to hear in response to Sky's claims last night:

A penny for Rafa's thoughts if this does turn out to be the bcase, but one thing I will say is that Mike Ashley is known to have contacts as Sky. With that in mind, I refuse to take their 'takeover updates' yesterday as fact - even if they do fill me with very little hope.
I'd like to bet that £350m is his actual asking price and this has all been another attempt to drum up interest.
Who knows, but what is true is that Amanda Staveley needs to get a move on and back up her words if she really is serious about taking over at St James' Park.
