Journalist claims NUFC are now 'hours' away from new signing after Mitrovic sale goes through

According to Hector Rodriguez - a journalist for leading Venezuelan outlet 'Meridiano' - Salomon Rondon is now just 'hours' away from completing a move to Newcastle after Aleksandar Mitrovic's switch to Fulham has now gone through.

With the Serbian's £22m move now complete (and it could end up being £27m with add-ons), the club have now taken in over £40m from player sales, and it seems as though Salomon Rondon's arrival could imminent as a result.

Courtesy of a bit of Spanish translation, here's what Meridiano TV reporter Hector Rodriguez has had to say on Rondon's move in the last few moments  - with him suggesting that the West Brom striker will be a Newcastle player in a matter of hours:

With all the money taken in and the lack of money spent, you'd like to think this will be the case, but, as ever, we'll take this as a pinch of salt - even if Rondon's move does seem a matter of when and not if.
