Peter Beardsley investigation takes a turn for the worse - This really is getting silly now

by Olly Hawkins · 9 October 2018, 13:24

As reported by The Mail's Craig Hope, it's said that Peter Beardsley's return to NUFC is now 'unlikely', with U-23 players making it clear that they do not want to see the 57-year-old back after allegations of racism and bullying.

The story states that the players have now been mocking Beardsley, with a 'training ground sing-along' turning into a joke at the coaches expense recently.

Craig Hope's piece insists that no final decision has been made on his future, despite us now being NINE months into his suspension and investigation.

What's worse is the piece also explains the baffling reasons why Lee Charnley (who is heading the investigation) has been 'unable' to resolve the matter as of yet, claiming the Managing director has  been "preoccupied with first-team matters".

It's stated that this 'slow progress' has 'infuriated many connected to the academy' - so it seems like Rafa Benitez and us NUFC fans aren't the only ones who get fed up of Charnley's inability to do anything quickly.

Let's hope this gets sorted out once and for all ASAP - but for now, it would be nice if the youngsters didn't mock Beardsley while the case is still being investigated.
