Rio Ferdinand sends Sunday morning message to NUFC fans - He's embarrassing himself now..
After his unbelievable rant live on BT Sport last night - where he defended Sports Direct chum Mike Ashley and claimed we should be thanking him - Rio Ferdinand has had yet another dig at NUFC fans this morning.
Rio claimed we should be saying 'thank you' to Ashley for appointing Benitez and spending £50m when we went down. He conveniently misses out the fact that it was Mike's lack of spending that got us relegated in the first place - not to mention the fact that the money spent following relegation was not from Ashley's pocket but simply funds raised by the club itself.
Here's what he's now tweeted this morning - with him now championing Ashley for 'turning a profit', giving us 'no debt' and keeping us in the Premier League:
Rio, we're in the bottom three. Is that down to Rafa Benitez not being a very good manager or Mike Ashley not being a very good owner? Hmm..
He calls us a 'yo-yo club'. Ok, we might be now, but whose fault is that? There's a common denominator here Rio.

"When they went down, he spent £50m of his own money to get them up. Thank you, that should be."
"By the way, please say thank you for getting Rafa Benítez in! They're lucky to have him!"
He's embarrassed himself live on TV, either showing that he's an incredibly short sighted pundit or too concerned about keeping in Ashley's good books given he's now launching a product in S**** Direct. Probably both.
I initially found his ignorance infuriating, but Rio is just showing himself up in front of the whole footballing community now.
