Chelsea fan makes absurd claim about NUFC supporters & Mike Ashley on talkSPORT - Wow..
According to Chelsea fan 'Chris' who appeared on talkSPORT earlier this week, us fans should be 'grateful' for the money Mike Ashley has spent - claiming we'd be in a bigger mess without him.
You'd have though this caller's outrageous claim is a wind up, but I've heard it myself and I can confirm that he meant every word he said - and it's quite rich coming from a Chelsea fan; a team that's simply bought success in the 21st century.
How people defend Ashley is beyond me. Whether or not you are a Newcastle fan, anyone with an ounce of football knowledge can see that he is the main reason we are in this mess - not the saviour as this Chelsea fan suggested.
Here's a snippet of what he said when calling into talkSPORT:
"If Mike Ashley had not put his effort and money in then where would Newcastle be today?!
"Newcastle fans should be totally grateful.."
With two relegations that may turn to three under Ashley, not breaking our transfer record since Michael Owen in 2005, and the constant lies that he spouts to fans on the rare occasion he speaks out, it's hard to defend Ashley whatsoever.
Being a Chelsea fan with a Russian billionaire as their owner, it's quite easy to see how he may be 'blinkered'.
