Going to the game tonight? Make sure you get involved in this peaceful protest - Ashley won't like it..
A peaceful protest is taking place in and around St James' Park for tonight's home game with Man City, with 40,000 DW Sports flyers being handed out to NUFC fans heading to the game.
These flyers promote Ashley's biggest competitor in the sports retail world - DW Sports - and fans are being asked to grab one from outside the stadium and hold it up before and after the game.
They will be available at the Metro station, Strawberry corner and around the Leazes and Gallowgate terrace, with fans being urged to grab one before they head into the statium.
This campaign has been started by protest group 'United Against Ashley', who have sent this plea to fans ahead of the game:
I can understand why some prefer not to boycott or take part in a post-game sit in, but this will take minimal effort - yet could anger Ashley if it gets enough backing and coverage on BT Sport as a result.
