Carroll 'agrees' move to NUFC – Personal terms & length of contract decided – The Times
According to the Times' Oliver Kay, Andy Carroll has 'agreed personal terms' ahead of a potential move to Newcastle United, with an 'initial ONE-year contact' lined up.
With this and the fact he's available on a free in mind, it seems like 90% of the deal is complete, with the move now likely to hinge on his ability to pass a medical.
Here's what Olivery Kay - the Times' chief football correspondent - has had to say on his potential move to Newcastle in the last few moments, suggesting personal terms and length of contract are already agreed:
With the club keen, Carroll desperate to return (he's been happy to take a 'huge' pay cut by all accounts) and Bruce an admirer, it seems everything is in place for him to complete return...provided he does pass a medical.
That will be the big test, but, if he's fit to sign and seeming in decent shape following ankle surgery, I think this is a deal that could work very nicely for all parties.
It looks like it's happening!
