Bruce confirms 3 more injuries after Wolves 1-1 Newcastle - "It’s really frustrating"
Steve Bruce has confirmed that Paul Dummett and Dwight Gayle suffered hamstring injuries during today's 1-1 draw at Wolves.
They're not the only two to come away from Molineux with new knocks either, with the NUFC boss also revealing that Joelinton has a groin problem.
Here's what Bruce has had to say when speaking to the press following today's draw in the West-Midlands:
“Dummett has done his other leg - the hamstring.
"Gayle, we think is a hamstring injury. We’ll see how he is.
“He was terrific (before going off injured). He was out for two and a half months from July, so we’ve been constantly trying to get him fit. It’s really frustrating for all of us.”
"Joelinton’s got a bit of a groin problem. He’s managed to stay on the pitch to give us a little bit of a chance.
"I’ve never known anything like it in 40 years.
We’ve lost two or three, and it’s been like that for several weeks now."
"Whether it’s bad luck or we have to go a little deeper to look at it, we need to find out."
The rate of injuries we're suffering really is racking up now - and Bruce's final comment suggests he's going to look into our fitness woes in greater detail over the coming weeks.
We lost Schar, Willems, Manquillo and Shelvey to muscle injuries against Leicester, saw Muto, Almiron and Ki pick up knocks at Rochdale and may now have lost another three today.
Thankfully a few of the above were fit enough today (Almiron and Willems), but this can't continue and is down to more than just 'bad luck'.
Hopefully all three are back before long.
