TWO big takeover claims arrive as Sky pundit reveals what Jamie Reuben has just told him
Jamie Redknapp has dropped a few big hints this morning that a takeover at Newcastle United is now imminent.
Speaking on Sky Sports following a recent chat with the Jamie Reuben, he's revealed that it's "only a matter of time" before the takeover will be announced - also claiming that the soon-to-be new owners plan to buy 'big players' to take Newcastle 'back to where it should be' at the top end of English football.
We know a deal is in the pipeline and edging closer, with only Premier Leagie approval said to be standing in their way, but Redknapp's latest comments suggest it's a case of when, not if for NUFC fans.
Here's what Redknapp had to say during his appearance on Sky Sports earlier:
“What I have heard is that it is just a matter of time (After speaking to the Reuben family).
"I know the people that are involved in buying the club, the Reuben family, Jamie was involved with QPR for a while.
"I have spoken to Jamie [Reuben] about a number of things and he was confident about it. I will be surprised if it doesn't get done."
“I think for Newcastle fans, this is going to be great news.
"I think right now they are just waiting because they don’t want to come out talking about astronomical numbers, but from what I can gather, it is just a matter of time.
"They will invest, they want to buy big players and take Newcastle back to where it should be again.”
More exciting claims and more positive noises, with it now feeling as though a deal is imminent to end Mike Ashley's miserable 13-year stint at St James' Park.
Fingers crossed there's no hiccups in the Premier League's owners and directors test - not that it's sounding like there will be!
