Saudis "want to sign" Barca youngster & Brazilian star once takeover is complete - MARCA
According to reports in Spain today, Phillipe Coutinho isn't the only Barcelona player being eyed up ahead of a potential £300m takeover on Tyneside.
We've seen our name linked with Barca duo Vidal and Griezmann since news of a Saudi-backed buyout emerged a few weeks ago, however Spanish outlet MARCA now claim that we "want to sign" 22-year-old talent Carles Alena.
The attacking midfielder is currently on loan with fellow La Liga side Real Betis, but has been tipped to leave the Nou Camp on a permanent deal once he returns this summer.
Alena is a Spain U-21 international who's played 39 times for his boyhood club - a decent tally for his age - however a move could be on the cards to get regular football at senior level following his rise through their U-19 and B team ranks.
The same report also credits us with an interest in former Liverpool star Phillipe Coutinho - who they're also expected to cash in on - however it's fair to say the 27-year-old Brazilian would come at a MUCH bigger cost for the would-be owners of Newcastle United.
