Comedy gold as Richard Keys comment comes back to bite him ahead of Saudi takeover - Priceless
Some priceless comments have re-emerged from a Richard Keys blog post written in January 2019 - and it's comedy gold ahead of a takeover on Tyneside.
The Bein Sports pundit has shown in true colours in recent weeks. He's clearly absolutely raging that the Saudis are all set to seal a £300m takeover at St James' Park, stating over the weekend that their arrival into Premier League football shows what a 'sad' and 'unprincipled' world we live in..
This was hypocritical enough given it comes from a man with zero principles - he was sacked by Sky Sports for clear sexism and cheated on his ill wife with his daughters best pal - but a comment he made last year has now been dug up by eagle-eyed NUFC fans on social media; and it's just brilliant.
Here's his post from January 30th (2019), where he said our glory days are "over" and something us fans can forget about "unless a 'country' buys Newcastle":
“Newcastle are not going to compete with the top 6 in the PL any time soon – no matter who the owner is. The ‘big 6’ have gone away from the rest now.
“Unless a ‘country’ buys Newcastle their supporters can forget about the Keegan/Dalglish/Robson year’s. They’re over. And let’s once again point out – Ashley has had Newcastle for sale for years now, but no-one wants to buy it. (yet!)
Well guess what Richard, a 'country' has arrived and wants to buy us - but you're still complaining about the success we might have as a result, stating just recently that he "wishes it was another club" and not Newcastle United being bought by silly-rich.
We didn't need more proof, but this shows once again that he really does hold a huge level of hate and bitterness towards us Mags.
