Amanda Staveley's husband issues cryptic takeover message - A positive sign in amongst the comedy
We've become accustomed to the unexpected during this Saudi takeover saga, but one thing I didn't envisage this morning was a Rick Astley reference from a key member of the buying side!
In a tweet posted in the last few moments, Mehrdad Ghodoussi - Amanda Staveley’s husband and a would-be board member had a Saudi takeover gone through - has posted the song 'Never Gonna Give You Up', followed by the 'NUFC' and 'NUFC Takeover' hashtags.
A new one I must say, yet a pretty obvious message to Newcastle fans, suggesting the buying side are not going to walk away from this drawn out takeover saga anytime soon!
This follows on from Mehrdad's tweet last week highlighting the ongoing attempts to cut out piracy in Saudi Arabia.
Who knows what happens next, but with us now two weeks on from that devastating announcement, it's good to see that Staveley's side (along with the Reubens) appear committed to finding a resolution.
I'm sure some fans just want this over with one way or another after FIVE months of hopes and fears, but I for one am happy to wait a little bit longer if it means we get the resolution our sleeping giant of a football club and brilliant city so badly deserves.
