Sky Sports confirm new £280m takeover bid - Ashley set to reject but second offer incoming from BN Group
Sky Sports News’ Keith Downie has confirmed that interest from Singapore Bellagraph Nova is genuine and that documents have been presented to the club.
The group, which has been met with an air of scepticism from our fanbase, have reportedly offered Ashley £280m for the club.
That said, the bid is expected to rejected with it falling short of Mike Ashley's current asking price, and Downie has since been on air stating that a second offer is set to follow.
While Downie says there are still question marks over the deal, he told Twitter that a 29 page document has been submitted to buy NUFC that contains a letter of intent and finance details surrounding a proposed buyout:
This is now the SIXTH bid that's arrived at St James' Park since Mike Ashley put the for sale signs up back in 2017.
Downie also claims to have seen the letter of intent they've sent to Mike Ashley and confirms that Michael Chopra has been involved as a broker in the deal.
Sky Sports also report that they are claiming to have support from Alan Shearer and are prepared to hand him a role at the club if their proves successful - although they may have to up it considerably to get any joy out of Ashley.
