Newcastle United star unhappy with Steve Bruce after Leeds United snub - Report
If Lee Ryder's observations at Elland Road are anything to go by, it sounds like Andy Carroll wasn't a happy man.
With 15 minutes remaining and the game nicely poised at 2-2, Steve Bruce only had one change left to make.
Carroll's height and aerial prowess could've hurt a Leeds side that have been notoriously soft from set pieces this season, but Bruce's final substitution saw him bring on Miguel Almiron for a tiring Ryan Fraser.
At this point, Lee Ryder reports that Andy Carroll looked "furious" and "shook his head", clearly feeling that he could've done real damage against a small Leeds side that were only able to field one natural centre-back.
The Chronicle state that the 6ft 4' striker is 'determined to play his part this season', but insist that he is a frustrated figure at present - having failed to feature for over a month now.
Carroll wouldn't have been much use on the counter, but our best opportunities last night emerged from set pieces and crosses into the box - two things he can thrive from.
With the 31-year-old's contract up at the end of the season, him struggling for game time and yet to score since he sealed a return to the club 18 months ago, you can see why he was so eager to get on!
