This 47-second Jamie Redknapp rant proves how much he knows about this NUFC side - Video

by Jonny Dawson ·

Jamie Redknapp made one of the most ridiculous statements about Newcastle after the Aston Villa match, and he has now proven himself as one of the worst mainstream pundits to have an opinion on our club.

In his short, ridiculous “analysis”, he tells us that Newcastle is the fictional word “paceless” and that things wouldn’t change if Steve Bruce was replaced as manager.

Before I continue my rant in response to his latest set of clueless comments, Here's exactly what he had to say after the game:

For one, the idea that Newcastle don’t have players in the team who possess have any pace is absolute ridiculous. In our squad we have: Almiron, ASM, Yedlin, Lewis, Murphy, Fraser, Gayle and Wilson all gifted with a good amount of speed.

Blooming heck, even players like Manquillo, Matty Longstaff, Clark, Dummett, Hayden and Lascelles can hardly be accused of being tanks of players!

It’s as if Redknapp believes that our team is solely made out of Jonjo Shelvey and Andy Carroll!

And then we come on to this bizarre take that it “won’t change” if we get rid of Steve Bruce. What on Earth are you talking about?

It has already been proven that we have changed for the worse under Steve Bruce and I must point out that the squad that we had before had arguably more “paceless” players than we have now.

A forward combination using any of ASM, Almiron, Fraser, Wilson, Gayle and Murphy is instantly quicker than a combination of Rondon, Almiron, Perez, Gayle and Joselu. That’s without mentioning that you then have extra, different options of Joelinton and Carroll to use in any way that you may see fit.

One thing that I’m sure a new manager would try and do is play players in their correct positions and give them jobs that make sense.

I’m starting to wonder if Steve Bruce has dirt on every single pundit out there because this sort of opinion on football should get you the boot.

Different managers exist and have different track records for a reason because, like players, they have different abilities and different strengths. We know that Steve Bruce’s strengths are blaming everybody else and giving players time off from training, so we can only assume that any other manager would come in with different, probably better strengths.

Can we call for both Bruce and Redknapp to be sacked, please?
