NUST announce 'incredible' amount raised 5 days after launching bid to buy a stake in the club

by Olly Hawkins ·

In a Monday night message to Newcastle United fans, the NUST (Newcastle United Supporters Trust) have revealed the 'incredible' total raised so far towards the 1892 pledge scheme.

Five days into the ambitious initiative that's bidding to see us, the fans, own a small stake in the club under new owners, the NUST have confirmed that £50,000 has now been raised.

They also state that over 4,000 fans have pledged to the 1892 scheme so far, thanking fans for their incredible generosity and support in sharing their message:

£50,000 is just the start - this is a long-term project aiming to give us 1% ownership of the club once Mike Ashley sells up - however this will only rise on a monthly basis given thousands have already committed to direct debits.

As the NUST have explained, fans have been asked to donate whatever they can on a monthly basis – whether it be £1 or a tenner – to build a pot of money that would ensure supporter representation when new owners eventually arrive on Tyneside.

If you haven't already, please donate HERE and back the 1892 scheme - a brilliant project well worth getting behind as we bid to get our club back when Mike Ashley finally sells up.
