Jose Mourinho planning to make Newcastle United star his first summer signing at Roma - Report
According to reports in Italy, Jose Mourino is eyeing a surprise summer move for Newcastle United star Allan Saint-Maximin.
Following his Spurs exit last month, the 'special one' has agreed to become the new Roma boss ahead of the 2021/22 season - and it's claimed he's already lined up a few transfer targets of his own.
Italian outlet Corriere della Sera claim Mourinho wants ASM to join him in Serie A next season as he looks to build a squad capable of competing for the title next season. That said, there's a few reasons why this one seems unlikely.
The report states that Mourinho will be working with 'budget constraints' this summer as clubs look to recover from the recent pandemic - something that doesn't exactly bode well when the Frenchman is our most valuable asset and tied down to a new deal until 2026.
Not only that, does a famous authoritarian in Jose Mourinho really want one of the games biggest mavericks in ASM?! I have my doubts.
I'd also question just how keen the 24-year-old would be to leave the Premier League - a division that suits him down to the ground- not to mention the brilliant rapport he has with his adoring NUFC fans.
Not a transfer link we wanted to wake up to this morning, but this feels like one to file under the unlikely category!
