Laughable new transfer claims - Steve Bruce to 'hold talks' with available Premier League star
According to pretty bizarre and borderline laughable story that emerged over the weekend, Steve Bruce wants to hold talks with James Rodriguez over a possible move to St James' Park.
This comes from Italian outlet Calcio In Pillole and 'transfer guru' Ekrem Konur, who claims that we 'plan to hold talks' with Everton about his availability.
It's been well documented that the Colombian is not in Rafa Benitez's plans at Goodison Park, meaning he looks set to be on the move over the final week of the transfer window, however a move to Tyneside seems highly unlikely for any number of reasons.
Not only has Bruce stressed that we're in the market for defensive reinforcements and perhaps another central midfielder - of which Rodriguez is neither - his wage demands will be colossal.
