Mike Ashley now holding up Hamza Choudhury's move from Leicester to Newcastle - Report

by Olly Hawkins ·

With just two hours remaining until the transfer window slams shut, The Telegraph's Luke Edwards has offered an infuriating update on our attempt to sign Hamza Choudhury on a late loan deal.

He claims that the 23-year-old 'wants to come', however the only thing blocking his proposed move to St James' Park is our refusal to pay the loan fee Leicester City are demanding.

As a result, Edwards - a self-confessed 'friend' of Steve Bruce's - fears we are now running out of time to get the deal done, with the window set to close at 11pm.

Here's what he's had to say in a 9pm update on the midfielder's future, revealing how Mike Ashley's refusal to stump up the cash looks set to cost us:

Elsewhere, Edwards' colleague Mike McGrath claims that any deal for the Leicester City midfielder depends on a non-homegrown player leaving the club before tonight's 11pm deadline.

One player who is believed to have attracted interest is Emil Krafth, however the fact we are needing one out before we can bring one in makes you wonder if Steve Bruce has decided to select FOUR goalkeepers in his 25-man squad!?
