NUFC player ratings vs Leeds - One 8, three 7's, several 6's and a few 5's
A frustrating Friday night at St James' Park, as Leeds came away with a 1-1 draw after Raphinha's early opener was cancelled out by who else but Allan Saint-Maximin.
Here's' out marks out of 10 for everyone involved in yesterday's game at SJP:
Darlow – 7 – A decent return to between the posts. He was unfortunate to concede and really the full fault for that was with the defence in front of him. He did well to stop Lascelles embarrassing himself with a headed own goal.
Manquillo – 5 – Largely anonymous through the match. He wasn’t particularly bad but he was beaten a fair few times and Almiron had to bail him out too.
Hayden – 6 – Didn’t have a particularly great first half with some mistakes but he grew into the game and was generally ok.
Lascelles – 5 – Was poor for the goal and nearly scored an own goal but was generally ok.
Clark – 5 – Fairly anonymous throughout and was poor in the build-up for the Leeds goal.
Ritchie – 6 – A bit of a headache in defence but useful in attacking build ups.
Longstaff – 6 – Anonymous in first half but grew into the second half.
Willock – 6 – Was ok throughout but was required to contribute more defensively than normal.
Almiron – 7 – Was a workhorse throughout. He helped build up some attacks but more importantly contributed defensively in an excellent manner.
Saint-Maximin – 8 - Was a danger throughout and deserved his goal. He was simply on a different level to the rest of the team.
Joelinton – 7 – Did well to set up Saint-Maximin for the goal and was impressive in the second half especially.
