New report reveals when £300m takeover could be confirmed after dramatic 24 hours

The Telegraph are reporting that our proposed £300million Saudi-backed takeover could be completed TODAY.

News broke yesterday that Saudi Arabia had lifted a nationwide ban on beIN Sports, with illegal streaming being a key stumbling block in the Premier League giving the deal the green light.

Arbitration between NUFC and the top flight was originally scheduled for January 3, but yesterday’s ruling in the Middle East has rendered those legal proceedings redundant as there is no need to prove a separation between PIF and the Saudi state.

With that hurdle out the way, all reputed sources - including those who were originally sceptical the takeover would pass - are now reporting that an announcement is imminent and our club will be granted its lottery ticket takeover.

A snippet from The Telegraph's piece states 'Premier League lawyers were frantically working to finalise the completion of the takeover on Wednesday night in the hope they would be able to make an official announcement on Thursday.'

Luke Edwards, originally a staunch critic who didn't expect the deal to go through, also claims a statement could be made as early as today and, if not, then we will hear something “certainly” by the end of the week.
