Results are in as 10,000 fans vote for preferred new manager after Emery blow – 4 contenders

With number one target Unai Emery now out of the running, we're back to the drawing board and left wondering who the new owners will target next.

Several outlets have named Eddie Howe as the new favourite, while Sky Sports have confirmed that Roberto Martinez, Lucien Favre and Paulo Fonseca have all held talks with the Saudi-backed consortium since Steve Bruce was sacked.

As a result, popular fan page @NUFC360 have ran a poll on Twitter last night, asking Toon fans who out of the four they'd like to see take over on Tyneside.

After just over 10,000 votes, Portuguese coach Paulo Fonseca is the most popular choice on 35.3%, followed by ex-Dortmund boss Lucien Favre (29.9%) and bookies favourite Eddie Howe (23.8%), with Belgium manager Roberto Martinez deemed the least attractive option with 10.9% of the vote.
