"Absolutely crucial" - Howe asks NUFC fans to do one thing ahead of huge Brentford clash

Eddie Howe has called on the Toon Army to make their voices heard when Newcastle entertain Brentford on Saturday.

Our new manager will be in the dugout for the first time at the weekend and takes the reins of a club that is yet to win a game all season.

The former Bournemouth boss has promised an offensive ethos that will replicate the style of play we became accustomed to seeing while he managed on the South Coast.

Toon supporters have been largely subdued at St James’ Park so far this season - largely down to the utter dross they have had to endure - but Howe has given them one order ahead of Saturday’s clash.

This is what he said to the press shortly after he was appointed:

"They [the fans] are magnificent in their support, their voice, their energy.

"I think they inspire the players, they helped the players, and that’s going to be absolutely crucial.

"We’re in a relegation battle, and to ease the pressure on the players, if supporters can make as much noise as they can here and away, I think that will go a long way for us in achieving our aims."
