Sky Sports told striker will 'seriously consider' NUFC move if January offer arrives
A new name has been linked with a January move to Newcastle United over the festive period, with Sky Sports claiming that Odion Ighalo is one of several strikers we're considering.
They report that the former Man Utd striker would 'seriously consider' a move to St James' Park next month if we made a move for the Nigerian.
Ighalo, 32, is currently playing in for Al Shabab in Saudi Arabia, being the league's top scorer with 10 goals in 14 games so far this season.
Sky Sports claim that he is someone we have looked at, with Eddie Howe intent on signing another striker in January to ease our overreliance on Callum Wilson; who looks set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
It's reported that Al Shabab have 'informally asked' the player if he'd be interested in making the move to Tyneside should we make contact, and it seems he's keen.
Between 2014 and 2017, Ighalo bagged 40 goals in 100 appearances for Watford, then going on to score five times in 23 games for Manchester United before netting 46 goals in 72 appearances during a recent stint in China.
