Another Premier League manager sacked - Steve Bruce now surely the obvious replacement?
Watford are at it again. Just a few months after sacking Xisco Munoz, The Athletic have revealed that Claudio Ranieri has now lost his job.
The writing was on the wall for the Italian after they were beaten 3-0 by relegation rivals Norwich on Friday night - a result which has left them second bottom of the Premier League following our 1-0 win at Leeds on Saturday.
He picked the club up in 14th back in October and has left them in 19th, managing just seven points in 13 games in charge.
So, who do Watford turn to next? The bookies reckon Fabio Cannavaro, Frank Lampard and Paulo Fonseca could be considered, but it'll be interesting to see if Steve Bruce's name is thrown into the hat!
After all, so many believed he 'worked miracles' to keep this Newcastle United side in the league last season and is currently out of work...
Surely his name will be high up on the Pozzo's priority list given how highly-rated he seemed to be amongst so called 'experts' during his time on Tyneside?!
It'll certainly be 'interesting' to see who takes charge at Vicarage Road now they are looking for their THIRD manager of the season!
Here's the full list of Premier League casualties so far this season, with Ranieri's sacking taking the total up to eight:
