Newcastle announce official 25-man squad - THREE left out to make room for new signings
Newcastle United have announced their 25-man squad for the second half of the 2021/22 season.
As expected, Ciaran Clark and Jamal Lewis have lost their places in Eddie Howe's 25, while Isaac Hayden is the third and final player to be left out to make room for new signings Bruno Guimaraes, Matt Targett and Dan Burn.
The midfielder underwent knee surgery last month, with Eddie Howe stating in the first week of January that he'd be sidelined for 10 weeks.
So, with this long-term injury in mind, it seems Howe decided to drop him from his 25-man squad ahead of the likes of Krafth, Gayle, Gillespie and Ritchie.

It seems fairly certain we won't see Ciaran Clark in a black and white shirt again, while Lewis and Hayden are facing uncertain futures.
The former could now seal a loan move abroad, where as the latter could easily be replaced this summer if we manage to stay up.
Elsewhere, the likes of Freddie Woodman and Jeff Hendrick aren't included after the pair sealed loan moves to Bournemouth and QPR, respectively, on deadline day.
Do you agree with Eddie Howe's decision to drop Clark, Lewis and Hayden? Let us know.
