Newcastle miss out on £25m man as another summer target agrees move elsewhere - Report
As reported by 90min, Newcastle have missed out on one of their summer targets as Freiburg centre-back Nico Schlotterbeck looks set to join Borussia Dortmund.
The German defender is believed to have been identified as a potential alternative to Sven Botman - who looks Milan bound - however it seems he too will be signing elsewhere.
Interestingly, the same piece states that Eddie Howe will be handed around £100m to spend this summer, naming Sevilla's Diego Carlos and Bournemouth's Lloyd Kelly as back-up options now we appear to have missed out on Botman and Schlotterbeck.
So far this season, the 22-year-old has played a crucial role in maintaining the Bundesliga's third best defence as his side hope to push on for Champions League qualification.
He also recently made his debut for Germany, being a left-footed ball-player who could have been a brilliant addition to our defence for years to come.
However, it looks like he'll join Borussia Dortmund, with reports in his homeland suggesting he'll sign for a bargain fee of £25m this summer.
