Amanda Staveley set for summer talks with Eddie Howe just 7 months after striking £4m deal - Report
According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle will soon enter discussions with Eddie Howe over a new contract following a superb start to life at St James' Park.
It is understood that both Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi have a great relationship with the 44-year-old and have been "delighted" with his efforts on and off the pitch.
His original deal would only see him at the club for another two years, earning the same wage he was getting at Bournemouth - £4million a year - so, given the success, a new one on improved terms feels well deserved.
The contract will most likely be an extension but also a big pay-rise as a reward for the hard work he has put in to unite not just a club but an entire city, a job few have managed in the last two decades.
Howe has also been nominated for manager of the season and, should Newcastle win at Burnley on Sunday and finish in the top half, he would have a very good case for winning it.
