Newcastle still keen to bring Premier League striker to St James' Park - The Athletic
According to The Athletic, Newcastle remain interested in signing Everton's Dominic Calvert-Lewin this summer.
The report insists that the Merseyside club are yet to receive any formal offers for the 25-year-old, however it's said a move away could suit all parties this summer.
Everton may need to sanction a big money sale to satisfy FFP after recently confirming huge financial losses, and it's thought the player may be interested in moving on to resurrect his career - especially with the World Cup around the corner.
This also comes after The Telegraph released a piece last month claiming the striker ‘would like to make the move’ to Tyneside, suggesting our new project under ambitious owners appeals to Calvert-Lewin.
The mobile target man may have bagged just five goals in 17 league appearances in what was an injury-hit season for the striker, however it's worth noting that he did score 36 times over his previous two campaigns at Goodison Park.
He wouldn't be my first choice and I wouldn't be paying silly money, but I don't think many would complain if Calvert-Lewin and Ekitike were added to our forward line this summer!
