Moussa Diaby's stance on potential NUFC move and the €15m alternative now on offer - Report

by Olly Hawkins ·

According to new reports emerging from Germany, Moussa Diaby has "no intention" of joining Newcastle United this summer.

This comes from Patrick Berger at SPORT1 - one of the leading German news outlets - who claims that we have identified the Bayer Leverkusen winger as our 'top target.'

The chief reporter states that we are prepared to pay €35-40m for the Frenchman. However, not only is he not sold on a potential move to St James' Park, it's believed his club are demanding significantly more than we're willing to pay for the 22-year-old - valuing him around the €60m mark.

Berger then goes on to reveal that Borussia Dortmund winger Thorgan Hazard is a 'plan B' we could pursue if a move for Diaby goes nowhere.

Hazard - the younger brother of Eden - is said to be interesting several Premier League sides, with SPORT1 reporting that the 29-year-old Belgian will be allowed to leave for €15m.

Here's the two tweets released by Berger - the chief writer at SPORT1 - on Friday afternoon:
