Sven Botman’s Lille teammate issues glowing reference live on talkSPORT ahead of NUFC move

Jose Fonte - a Lille teammate of soon to be Newcastle player Sven Botman - has heaped praise on the defender ahead of his arrival on Tyneside.

The Dutchman is set to have his medical in the coming days after terms were agreed with both club and player last Friday, marking the third signing of our summer window just two weeks after it opened. 

Speaking on talkSPORT, the former Southampton centre-back praised every aspect of his game, believing he has the character, physicality and technical ability to become a bit hit in the Premier League.

Here's what Fonte had to say about the 22-year-old:

"He is a great guy, has a great personality, is a hard worker, tall, fast, has great left foot and reads the game well.

"He is good offensively and scores goals.

"He can deal with the Premier League."

By the description from his title-winning teammate, Botman could be a big hit At St James' Park. After months of transfer rumours, it will be good to finally have this saga put to bed.
