Agent name-drops Newcastle United when asked about future of Argentinian international

by Andrew Reynolds ·

Agent of Feyenoord defender Marcos Senesi name-dropped Newcastle United when speaking to Serie A News about a possible transfer for his client.

The 25-year-old has impressed heavily during his three seasons in the Eredivisie - making a total of 80 league appearances - and has been linked to multiple clubs in Europe such as Leeds, Everton and several Italian sides.

His agent, Danilo Caravello, revealed that Newcastle have always been an option because of our financial power, and that the big price tag remains a ‘big obstacle’ for other clubs.

Caravello said: “Marcos is a strong player, an Argentine international. The big obstacle remains the price tag, as dealing with the Dutch is never easy.

"Senesi is a player that many teams pay attention to. But, in the end, nothing ever materialises. Either the economic solution is not found, or there is not all a desire to sell him.

“On the interest of Newcastle, certain rumours do not surprise me. Especially if we consider his value. Surely, if the English clubs want him, they’ll get him. They have a higher economic power than the other leagues.”

With both Sven Botman and Dan Burn being left-footed, it is unlikely Eddie Howe will go for another left-sided defender to once again bolster his back line.

However, should we look to get rid of the experienced Federico Fernandez, we would be left with four central defenders and just a couple of injuries away from a potential crisis.
