Newcastle join race to sign Aston Villa talent as player is left out of pre-season tour - Report
According to new reports, Newcastle United are the latest club considering a move for Aston Villa's Carney Chukwuemeka.
This comes from 90min reporter Graeme Bailey, who claims that the highly-rated midfielder is attracting interest from all over Europe after contract talks stalled at Villa Park.
The 18-year-old has entered the final 12 months of his current deal and has rejected the latest contract extension sent his way, leaving his future up in the air.
As a result, Steven Gerrard has left him out of their pre-season tour of Australia, publicly stating that he's yet to sign an offer that's been on the table for "some time."
This has only fuelled talk of a potential summer exit, with 90min reporting that ourselves, Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus are waiting in the wings should he continue to reject Aston Villa's proposal.
Chukwuemeka made 14 appearances for Villa's senior side last season and recently guided England U19s to European Championship glory, scoring twice in the final against Israel.
Another name to watch in our search of U21 talent, however he seems intent on securing first-team football, not developing elsewhere in another club's Academy...
