New signings finally spotted at Newcastle United as U21 trio join squad in Spain - Photo

by Olly Hawkins ·

New signings Alex Murphy and Charlie McArthur have finally linked up with their new Newcastle United teammates after sealing summer moves to St James' Park.

Murphy - an 18-year-old Irishman - played his last game for Galway United last Friday, while Scotland youth international McArthur put pen to paper last week, arriving from Kilmarnock.

A week on, the defenders have today been spotted at the Academy's pre-season training camp in Spain, with our U18s and U21s beginning a six-day training camp in Pinatar yesterday.

Alongside Murphy and McArthur, new recruit Jordan Hackett is also pictured, with the 18-year-old left-back signing a deal on Tyneside last month following his release from Spurs.

Ahead of the new 2022/23 Premier League 2 season, our second string will face La Liga side Elche on Saturday, 16th July, with friendlies also planned against Blackburn Rovers U21s and Sheffield United U21s.

Here's a group shot of the squad in Spain, featuring the likes of Mexican loanee Santiago Munoz and in-form striker Michael Ndiweni, along with Isaac Westendorf, Lucas De Bolle and Jay Turner-Cooke - three players who started pre-season training with the senior side:
