NUFC star joins Man Utd, Liverpool & Chelsea new boys in summer XI selected by Sky Sports viewers
Sven Botman has been included in Sky Sports’ team of the summer transfer window as voted by their viewers, being selected alongside Darwin Nunez (Liverpool), Kalidou Koulibaly (Chelsea) and Christian Eriksen (Man Utd).
The Dutchman signed from Lille back in June for around £35million, opting to join the Magpies over AC Milan - preferring Premier League football at St James' Park over European nights at the San Siro.
The 22-year-old is believed to be one of the most highly-rated young centre-backs in Europe, with some comparing him to Virgil van Dijk for his huge frame, quality in possession and defensive dominance in the air and on the deck.
It's a shock to see no Erling Haaland (Man City) or Gabriel Jesus (Arsenal) in the summer XI, however Sky Sports' viewers have Botman in great company, alongside summer arrivals at Chelsea, Spurs, Man Utd and Liverpool:
Judging from the few times I've seen Botman over pre-season, he looks to be a great addition to the defence, offering a calming influence and air of quality alongside Kieran Trippier.
