Newcastle launch third and final bid for João Pedro on Saturday night - Fabrizio Romano
Newcastle United have sent a 'final proposal' to Watford for João Pedro.
According to a Saturday night exclusive from Fabrizio Romano, the club have sent a verbal offer worth £25m plus £5m in add-ons for the highly-rated forward.
He reports that the final decision will now rest with the Pozzo family, who remain keen to keep a hold of the 20-year-old.
Our opening bid for the Brazilian was a reported £20m, with Romano revealing just a few days ago that we had a £22m bid - plus £3m in add-ons - rejected by the Hornets.
However, it seems we have now launched a bid worth £30m in total - believed to be much closer to Watford's asking price - so it'll be interesting to see how the decision makers at Vicarage Road react this time around.
Pedro did not feature in Watford's 0-0 draw at Preston today. It was reported last night that he failed to travel due to 'ankle pain', however the club's official line was that he had a 'minor calf injury' - leaving many to wonder if he was instead in no frame of mind to play after serious interest from St James' Park.
Let's hope it's third time lucky and this offer gets it done!
