Newcastle eyeing surprise £17m move for Juventus forward - Leeds also keen - Report

by Andrew Reynolds ·

According to French news outlet Jeunes Footeux, Newcastle, alongside Premier League rivals Leeds, are showing interest in £17m a move for Juventus striker Moise Kean.

The 22-year-old re-joined his former club this summer with an obligation to buy for around €28m after being loaned out by Everton, but the Old Lady could be willing to depart with their centre forward if Newcastle can stump up the cash.

It is no secret that we are desperate for another number nine - especially after Callum Wilson came off the pitch early due to a tightness in his hamstring in our 3-3 draw with Manchester City.

An injury to Wilson would be a huge blow, leaving us with just Chris Wood as the only recognised striker in the team, so a move for the young Italian forward could make sense if it was for the right price.

Kean has previously been described as a hard worker willing to do the defensive work and could be an ideal candidate for Eddie Howe’s high pressing system.

While no formal contact is said to have been made with the two clubs, Kean still has a lot of room to grow and could definitely be one to watch as the transfer window draws to a close.
