Howe sends "exciting" Alexander Isak message to NUFC fans and explains if he'll play vs Wolves

Eddie Howe has revealed that Alexander Isak's imminent move to Newcastle United is not done just yet, but he's hopeful he'll be signed in time for Sunday's trip to Wolves.

The NUFC boss also explains why he's such an "exciting" signing for the club - providing all goes to plan in the coming hours - saying he's an impressive athlete, technically "very good" and ideal for English football.

Howe is hopeful he'll be signed in time (12pm today) to be eligible for Sunday's clash with Wolves at Molineux, but insists that's out of his hands for the moment.

If he is registered in time, Howe admits he'll need to train with us over the "next two days" to be available to play, although it seems we'll give him every chance.

Here's everything Howe's had to say, starting with his response to where the deal sits ahead of this weekend's trip to Wolves:

“It’s not completed but we hope to get it done [before 12pm deadline for Wolves].

“Yeah, fingers crossed in time for Wolves.

"He will probably need to train with us in the next two days to be available to play....we're very keen to see him get involved as quickly as possible."

"There’s no guarantee with these sort of things because we’re in other people’s hands, but hopefully.”

Howe then had this to say about Isak's imminent arrival, believing the young yet experienced 22-year-old will be a "big player" for the club:

"We were always looking for an attacking player.

"We are delighted to sign Alex, who will be a big player for us

"He's had a lot thrown at him for a young player. The experiences that he’s had have been incredible, really, for someone so young.

"He played in Germany at a very young age and in Holland and Spain. Big clubs as well."

"So he’s had some great experiences. I think England and the English game will suit his profile.

"He’s a really good athlete, technically very good. His best years are ahead of him.

"If the transfer does get completed, I think we've got an exciting player.”
